NEW YORK, NY (July 1, 2019) – IAB, the national trade association for the digital media and marketing industries, today named veteran digital industry sales and strategy leader Sheryl Goldstein to the role of Senior Vice President, Marketing and Member Investment. She will be responsible for the trade group’s marketing and sales teams, beginning today.
Over a 20-year career, Goldstein has filled senior sales, marketing, and strategy roles at some of the digital sector’s most prominent companies, including Yahoo, AOL, and About.com. In 2016 through 2018, she built global offerings and partnerships as Senior Vice President of Global Strategy and Business Development for Own The Room, a communications and leadership training company. Most recently, she founded TriGold Communications, a consultancy to help executives advance their personal brands.
Goldstein has served on several commercial and nonprofit Boards of Directors in and adjacent to the digital marketing and media industries. She was on the Board of Wylei, a startup that leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to assemble the right content for individual users in real time. She also was a Board member of She Runs It (formerly Advertising Women of New York), an organization dedicated to encouraging and promoting women’s role in the advertising industry, and currently serves on the Executive Class member committee, which helps to create programming to enrich professional development and community building for the media, tech and marketing industry’s most senior level women professionals.
As a senior digital media executive, Goldstein has had a long and varied involvement with the IAB, including stints on the association’s CRO Council, during which she was part of the senior team that crafted the Standard Industry Terms and Conditions, the model contract that guides relationships between buyers and sellers. She also received Digital Media Sales Certification from IAB.
“Sheryl knows the IAB, knows our members, knows our customers, knows our issues, and knows how to make things happen,” said IAB CEO Randall Rothenberg. “From podcasting to OTT video to data to adtech, she has expertise in the channels and issues with which our members grapple daily. And she’ll be terrific at introducing and delivering to stakeholders the solutions that IAB uniquely can craft for them.”
“IAB has long been the North Star of the industry, creating standards, setting best practices, and uniting the ecosystem,” said Goldstein. “Now, more than ever, brands, publishers, technology companies, and others are in need of guideposts to help them navigate a rapidly changing digital landscape—and they are turning to the IAB for support and resources. I am excited to be joining the organization at this critical period, working with the entire IAB team to bring solutions and opportunities to the fore that will drive members’ growth and success.”
Goldstein graduated with a BS from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University.
