The event will introduce brands and media buyers to the latest in original digital video programming and showcase advertising opportunities across emerging media, including podcasts and virtual reality. In keeping with the NewFronts West inaugural theme—“Hello, LA: Where Ideas Meet Content”—the marketplace will have a laser focus on content creation and big ideas, as brands continue to push for more creative solutions and increase their commitment to digital content as a key component of their marketing mix.
Presenters will include Digitas, Ellen Digital Network, Gallery Media Group (PureWow, ONE37pm), Jukin Media, LiveXLive Media, Inc., Los Angeles Times, Meredith Corporation, The New York Times, Snap Inc., SoulPancake, Unity Technologies, Viacom Digital Studios, VICE, and FameBit By YouTube.
“Hollywood has a successful history in captivating audiences all over the world, and the NewFronts West line-up of big name media companies, digital native pioneers, and technology partners is sure to continue that long tradition,” said Anna Bager, Executive Vice President, Industry Initiatives, IAB. “Brands can expect to see the type of inventive digital programming that can help them forge meaningful, direct connections with consumers. In addition, this new Los Angeles event marks a return to the roots of NewFronts, with a focus on elevating and supporting up and coming independent content creators across the digital video, digital audio, and VR landscapes. Furthermore, the event will celebrate the West Coast creator community and its central role in helping shape the digital video ecosystem since its inception.”
“Original digital video content has increasingly become a critical part of brands’ marketing mix,” said Sean King, Senior Vice President, Veritone One. “If the New York NewFronts are any indication, the new Los Angeles event is sure to introduce us to new content creators and ideas that can fuel our clients’ advertising strategy throughout the year and beyond.”
“There is a real opportunity to raise the profile of original digital video and emerging content creation for advertisers in Los Angeles,” said Emma Witkowski, Digital Investment Lead, West Coast, Mindshare. “Bringing the West Coast audience together for first looks at digital video content, along with emerging media, is good for both publishers and marketers.”
