Even in a year where consumer behavior was drastically altered with people no longer commuting and having less free time as they juggled work, family, and a global pandemic, podcast consumption still grew and with that, so did advertiser investment. Media buyers have recognized the opportunity to connect with these fast growing and highly engaged audiences for both branding and performance, tapping into the leaned in, intimate relationship podcast creators and hosts have with their listeners. In this session, we will hear from audio agency leaders how they are getting involved in the podcasting world, how they are proving to their clients that podcasting works (e.g. promo codes, vanity URLs, what role do the IAB Podcast Measurement Technical Guidelines play) and how can we work together to make the execution of podcast campaigns increasingly more streamlined and scalable.
As EVP, Managing Director of Local Video and Audio Investment for Amplifi US, the investment and innovation platform of dentsu, Jennifer Hungerbuhler oversees the investment strategy for local video and audio across all screen and devices for all clients within Dentsu’s Network. In this significant role, Jennifer manages over $1.5B in annual media spend and is charged with reinventing the supply side of media, innovating consistent and scalable buying and investment capabilities, and developing richer media owner partnerships, locally and globally. Jennifer has over 20 years of industry experience and has worked with clients across almost every vertical.
Jen Soch, Executive Director of Channel Solutions at GroupM, oversees Audio & Local Video, DR, Publishing, and AdvancedTV. Her extensive career spans over three decades in media agencies, where she has consistently driven innovation and excellence.
Previously, as Integrated Global Investment Lead at Mindshare, Jen spearheaded the Facebook Business, managing all investment channels including Video, Audio, Programmatic, Image, Search, Social, and Digital. Her strategic oversight ensured cohesive campaigns and seamless integration across channels and tactics.
Jen’s impressive track record includes roles as EVP, Commercial at The Guardian, where she led U.S. Commercial Operations, and a strategic position at Domo focusing on analytics and investment. Her agency experience encompasses leadership roles at Ammarti-Puris, Dentsu-Aegis, MEC, and MediaVest, where she guided planning, strategy, and investment for diverse client portfolios.
Jen spent over a decade defining the first addressable and digital marketplaces and launching inaugural advertising on video on demand, including OTT, CTV, and mobile platforms.
Jen holds an MBA from Fordham University and a degree from Lehigh University. Beyond her professional achievements, she is a proud mom who enjoys ski jumping, and playing the saxophone.
As SVP, National Audio Practice Lead, Chris Yarusso oversees the national audio practice and investment across Publicis Groupe in the US. Focusing on a holistic buying approach that incorporates all facets of the audio ecosystem, Chris brings the best of Publicis’ offerings to bear for some 40+ clients across the network. Chris has been with the Publicis family for over a decade, having joined Spark Foundry in 2011 and rising through the ranks in various positions across strategy and investment prior to earning his current title at the helm of the organization’s audio practice. Chris additionally sits on the Media Rating Council’s Radio Committee.
Outside of work, Chris can most likely be found skiing in Breckenridge, Colorado, or in the kitchen testing out new recipes. He lives in Chicago and is the father of three teenagers.
